Neri H&R is located within a mansion house from the XVIII Century, right in the heart of Barcelona's Barrio Gótico. All 22 rooms are individually decorated with rich velvet materials and flowing silk fabrics on three floors of varying styles. One of the unqiue aspects of the décor can be found in the bathrooms, which are lined in quartzite, a stone thought to have beneficial properties for health and to foster the release of negative energy. In addition, all bathrooms are fitted out with infrared lights with soothing, anti-inflammatory properties.
The hotel takes its name from the square where it is located, Plaza San Felipe Neri, nestled in the heart of the Gothic Quarter near the Barcelona cathedral and the central Plaza de Sant Jaume. It is within short walking distance of several tourist must-sees, including the inimitable tree-lined Las Ramblas, the city’s stunning Gothic cathedral, the headquarters of the regional government (Generalitat de Catalunya), the bustling and virtually endless Boqueria market, the colorful Palau de la Musica music hall, the stately Liceu opera house, the city’s synagogue, the airy and lively Plaça Reial, the Christopher Columbus monument, several major museums (Picasso Museum, City History Museum, Maritime Museum, Frederic Mares Museum) and the city’s best shopping districts: Paseo de Gracia, El Borne, Portal de l’Angel and Portaferrisa.
