The Russie, Rome, Italy,
As you walk into the reception in the Russie, it feels that you may have inadvertently stepped into a former KGB headquarters with the staff all presented in neat, crisply pressed grey uniforms. The Russie used to be frequented by members of the Russian Imperial House – hence the name Russie. The entrance is grand but welcoming as the  “KGB style” concierge welcome guests.

Location
Located just off Piazza del Popolo on Via del Babuino, the Russie has a prime location in the heart of Rome, close to the Spanish steps and key sights, fashion houses and Via Condotti. Via del Babuino is a quiet pedestrianised street, so all rooms are peaceful.

Hotel
To the rear of the hotel, there are the tranquil terraced gardens  - the secret garden “Giardino Segreto” is a rare find in the city. The restaurant “Le Jardin de Russie” faces the gorgeous gardens and in summer, tables are set in the garden. In keeping with the Russian theme, the Stravinsky Bar is a perfect spot for an aperitivo to start the evening.

Rooms & Views
The Russie’s rooms feature restful pastel hues and signed photography including large colour flower photographs by Robert Mapplethorpe. Front rooms are above the pedestrianised Via del Babuino, so all rooms are peaceful. The rear rooms overlook the gardens. The suites with a terrace are very special.
