The Orchard Garden Hotel is located on Bush Street, a few blocks from Powell Street (San Francisco’s famous cable cars) and right beside the gate to China Town. Being in the heart of the city means that there is a lively atmosphere close by and getting around the city is stress-free. The Hotel is one of the newest (2007 opening) and greenest hotels in San Francisco, built to the LEED Green building rating system for environmental design.

The “green” practices also include chemical free cleaning products, recycled paper and energy control keycard system (a first in the US).  As a customer, the impact of the environmentally friendly design is most noticeable in the high levels of natural light in the rooms. The green credentials do not impact on luxury, with Egyptian cotton sheets, large sized rooms, flat screen TV’s and IPod docking stations in all rooms.

Dining
Meals are served in the Roots restaurant on the ground floor and feature local produce, naturally raised meats and sustainable seafood. Even the wine-list is packed with organic and sustainable wine selections - just ask the knowledgeable staff for suggestions.

Breakfast is a “European” Continental breakfast – which includes cold meats, hard-boiled eggs as well as the cereals, breads, cheese, yoghurts, fruit and croissants.

Rooms
The main rooms types are as follows:

Standard King or Standard King with view. The hotel design means that all rooms receive lots of natural light, so even internal rooms are bright.
Double Double - Setup with 2 double beds. For families or larger groups, as they can accommodate up to 4 adults.
Junior Suites: There are 3 types: 1) with a small living area; 2) With a deluxe bathroom ; 3) Junior Suite with terrace – only 2 available.

What to expect:

Rooms to choose
The Junior Suites with terrace are the prime rooms. There are only 2 with a terrace so book early.
